Is eragon halfelven and halfhuman?

There is a lot of debate over it what do you think

The elves magic made him that way.

No, he isn't. If anything, he's part human, part Dragon. But certainly not half-elf. The transfiguration thing that happened in Elesmera essintially made everything that usually happened to Riders from the connection to the Dragon, all happen at once, instead of gradually. Brom told Eragon: "The most common side affect [of a human becomeing a Rider] was an extended life. Our king has lived long enough to make that apparent, though most people attribute it to his own magical abilities. There were also other, less noticible changes. All the Riders were stronger of body, kenner of mind, and truer of sight than normal men. Alsong with this, a human Rider would slowly acquire pointed ears, though they were never as prominent as an elf's." So, everything that happened to Eragon happened to all of the other human riders. And they were still HUMAN, as Brom says.

He is a 100% human, whose physical form has been altered by magic. Just because the dragons changed him doesn't make him part dragon, nor does it mean they altered his DNA. He is still human, but altered with the physical/magical abilities of an elf.

Yes, that's what I was trying to say. And the signatures pretty sweet. Even though I don't agree with the Shrukin is a girl thing, I'm not going to hate you for it. I know plenty of people who hate my signature *coughApolloand DeltaandNellycough*

Nope, I don't hold grudges! Unless someone does something REAL horrible. Then I do. But a mere theory disagreement doesn't make me a hater!

I disagree with the general consensus of the people conversing here. I think that Eragon is part elf...and that, although it is true that Brom told him those things of riders, that he was substantially changed in the Ellesmerian ceremony. As CP said in Eldest, Eragon is now to fair to be a human, and two 'rough' to be an elf. Essentially, he's got the best of both worlds (and that was not a Hannah Montana plug, don't worry!).

Welcome to my world. First "Brom is Eragon's father", then Nasuada/Eragon, then "Nasuada is the next DR"... I'm in the minority in all of these. Oh well. I'm sure that I'll be the one laughing once book 4 comes out, but if I'm not, oh well.

No, I will be the one laughing! I have my own Eragon "cult" at school(or that's at least what my parents call it, ) And we discuss Eragon topics, theories, and characters daily. I'm also the one with the top theories there!

i thought eragon was all human since he didnt even look any elvish and was scared when he found out he would start lookin elvish

Domia, we're debating whether or not Eragon is halfelven after the ceremony that changed him.

oh well then i have to still say no because his blood didnt change hes still human he was just granted the gift of strength and mind by the dragons so you might want to ask if hes half dragon or not...............i dont think he is though

I think he was just altered, he couldn't be part dragon! Then he'd look all funny
