| The first spoiler was "In Brisingr, the third book in the Inheritance Cycle, Eragon will meet a god." What do you think this means? | |

It was on CP's official site (alagaesia.com), so it must be real. But, yes, it is rather strange. | |

| I think that whatever the god is, it'll be very interesting and unexpected. I don't think that you should really have too much of an oppinion yet, I mean, we don't know the context or timing, or type of god or anything really... As the old saying goes: Don't judge a book by its spoiler! | |

| I think that in order to truly answer this question we must first answer the question of what kind of god is Eragon going to meet. If he is going to meet an all-powerful creator I think that that would really mess with the series for me, especially in light of my faith. However, let's not forget that J.R.R. Tolkien as well as C.S. Lewis both had gods in their most famous fantasy books. Tolkien used the Valor and Maia as a sort of supplement to the mythological history that he created in all of his Middle-Earth books, as well as using them allegorically to represent his faith. C.S. Lewis used Aslan to metaphorically represent The God that he believed in, but he also used gods in his books as a type of fantastical being: such as the river god, Bacchus, etc. Is Paolini going to use gods as Gods, or gods? That's what I think we should be talking about. | |

| Well, I don't think that it will ba an all powerfull God, that would make it too easy if it was on Eragon's side, and two hard if it was on Galby's side. I think that it may be the Dwarven god of fire, since this is "Brisingr" after all. I can't remember his name, but this god is also the god of the sun, an the Ra'zac are weaker under sunlight. What if it was his power that kept them at bay? I know it's not very likely, but what do y'all think? | |

| I think it would completely mess up the series for me seen as it is tooo supernatural and not to be all like anti-religious but personally i dont believe in god so i wouldnt find it very good in the books. | |

| So you think that this series would be ruined just because of that? Have you read "Prince Caspian"? It in there is a river god. It's not really a god, in the sense that it's like some all powerfull creator, but it's like the spirit of the river. What if CP did something sorta like that? | |

| Exactly, that's just what I said in my previous post. And the fire god idea is a good one...but the question is, if it is a dwarf god...then what is a dwarf god exactly? Is it actually a 'God,' or is it part of some race that we haven't yet encountered in Alagasia. Additionally, it is also possible that the 'god' could be a dwarf with great power: elevated above his/her race. Then again it might not even be a dwarf god. And I disagree Zeb, I think that it could be an all-powerful God...who may be on no one's side, or just lets things go with a tiny bit of intervention. We really have no idea what CP could be thinking here...all we can do is speculate. | |

| I think that an all-powerfull "God" would just be a bit to religous. I don't think that CP would do something like that. But... I don't think that the Dwarven gods are all powerfull, so that's why I think it must be one of them. Why would CP put an all powerfull God in? What purpose? | |

| Well, it would stregthen the world that he is creating. It merely depends on what kind of world he wishes to create. | |

| I agee with Tempest. Paolini can do whatever he wants, and for what we know, it could be an all-powerful god. It is his imaginary world, we're just experiencing through the pages instead of through our mind. | |

| Did it ever occur to you that the dwarves may be CORRECT for the 1st time with an arguement with the elves? I think it's an all-powerful god, or a dwarven god. I'm not sure which one, though. All great writers incorporate faith into their works, because it's the only thing we have in RL. There are too many miracles, and too much benevloence in the world to say that there is no god. | |

| Zeb i am against it because i personally dont believe in god, so i think it would frankly be stupid and silly. Saying this i dont have anything against people who do believe in god thats fine everyone is entitled to there own opinion. But personally i definatly dont! | |
