Fate of Shruikan?

What will happen to this dragon? Is it a boy, or a girl?

I think it's a girl, and she will die along with Galby!

I think he is a boy, cause Saph is the only girl dragon, and I think he will be saved. He will be released from galby and be bonded to someone else.

So? It just maes girls specialer! And in the back of the eldest special edition, they have a character list and they list all the dragon's genders, except for HERS. Also, when Murty talked about Saph being the only dragon, how would he know?! Why would galby tell him?! Galby isn't the type of man to give out excess info, and why on earth(or Alagaesia) would he tell that to Murty?

Cause he controls murtagh. and why would he lie? Why would he chase after saph? Instead of just marrying thorn and Shruikan? huh?

I don't know, I think Thorn is a "new" grown up, so I don't think he's had that much time to have that many kids. Besdies, I think dragons would have a mating season and stuff.

Yes, but it takes time for him to become mature enough to have kids! He can't just hatch and be ready! Though he seems to have aged through magical means, if you remember the end of Eldest. He could breathe fire much faster than Saph, and so it will take a little longer until he is actually ready to reproduce. Even after Saph learned to breathe fire, it took a while for the hormones to kick in.

Correct. Galbatorix would have taken advantage of his own powers, and made thorn mature.

But that isn't what Murtagh said to Eragon: he implied that it could be done, that's why he wanted Saphira to have eggs. And anyways, what do you mean, Aravelle, by "it took a while after [Saphira] could breath fire for the hormones to kick in." There is no mention of that that I am aware of.

Well, she learned fire right at the end of Eragon. Remember in Eldest, how she longed for a mate? I consider THAT hormones. And don't say it isn't, remember the incident with Glaedr!! I think that should be enough evidence there.

Sorry sam i have to disagree with you here. OK, well i geuss we can't tell yet cause if shruikan is a girl then thorn and shurky could mate at the begining or middle of the the next book. so i don't know.

Yes, but it takes several months until he'd be able to reproduce! He wouldn't just hatch and be ready to sire some eggs! And as I said, most likely they have some sort of mating season, so there are only certain times it's possible to conceive an egg.

I don't think they have mating seasons. Cause dragons are kind of like humans they can think like humans and not like animals. now i do think they have a time when they mate more then any other time, but not a mating season.

They are more intelligent then we think. Whatever your theories implie, Shurikan is not a girl. Find me facts!

Look who's talkin! You've got no proof! Nada! Even hypothesis's would be more solid. Where is the evidence? Galbatorix wants another egg...if he had a boy and girl dragon, he would speed up Thorn's growth cycle...And not chase after Saphira! If thorn was the only boy dragon, why would he bother to fetch Saphira! If thorn was not mature, he wouldn't chase after Saphira! There would be no need!
