Mr. Onion! The bond between the two of them is a "mockery of the bond you and Saphira share". I think the bond would break because of the stress.

Sorry. Zeb asked. Anyway, why is everybody hoping Shruikan will die? HE is innocent. Galbatorix forced him to hatch.

Even if he WAS good way back then, Galbatorix has obviously corrupted him beyond return. Even if the bond is artificial, Galbatorix has priven himself a competent sorceror, so the bond must be powerfull. After sharing such a bond with such an evil person must have pushed Shrukin beyond the point of no return (tehe, phantom!). If the bond can be broken (probably by Murty or Arya, before they die), then perhaps Shrukin will have enough good in hom to do a final deed that could save Eragon, but Galbatorix would have mentally corupted Shrukin so much, there's not much hope for him.

Possibly. No one know how deep and strong dragon's minds are though.

When Saphira was talking about herself, she said she was the most bueatifal creature in Alegesia. She said Glaedr wasn't, and he had his wound, then she talked about thorn and Shruikan. Then she said they were males anyway, and while males could be majestic, they were not as pretty.

I think that he has to die. I mean, a rider and dragon are basically one entity. Even if he was the greatest person ever when he was first captured by Galby, he must be soooo curupted.

I still think (hope) he could break free. and join the Varden!

Oh, I'm not saying he'll be 100% evil till the day he dies, but there's just not much left for him once his rider dies. Even if the bond is artificial, he'll be in so much pain once Galby dies. Though, I think he may make one final act of good before his death.

Maybe I'll have to settle for that.
