What is Eragon's True Name?

Okay, so if you haven't read my theory...than here it is. I think that Eragon's True Name is the name of the Ancient Language.

Maybe. Maybe his name is the ancient language translation for Morzan's Son. Something like that.

Or maybe it's the translation for Brom's Son . No, seriously, I think that my previous post is a definite possibility. But what about this? I just watched the most recent CP video clip and he said that the name of the new book (Brisingr) is very important to the story. What if that's Eragon's True Name? That would be cool, and it would make a lot of sense.

Possibly. Could be and it would be like possible.

Yeah, but Brisingr is so common, someone would have stumbled on it.

Do people get their "true name" when they are named? I mean, if that's so, I wonder who gave him his "true name."

Matt has a cool theory. If thats true no one could have gave him the name of the ancient laguge. Cause no one knows the name of it. Anyway if that was true he would be the most powerful person on earth like orimis said "if someone knew they would have a great amount of power to much for any living being. But i do think his name will be a VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY powerful name.

I agree with esac. It will be powerful, and in AL. Maybe edocsil brisingr?

lol! Yeah, I have always thought ever since that video clip that Brisingr would be Eragon's true name, or some variation of Brisingr.
Also, if a true name is some thing that is given, wouldn't all parents have complete control over their kids? And, then only people who knew about the names could have them.

But then Izzy would be able to controll Arya, and it appears that Arya has done several things that Izzy wouldn't like. Unless Arya's father named her and didn't tell Iz...

True... Maybe parents don't get their child's true name. Maybe it's simply something they find on their own.

Yeah, that's sorta what I've always thought. The parent theory has too many holes...

Yes it will be something to do with the whole being callled the first dragon rider and thats why he leaves Aligaesia (sorry spelling) forever!! that could be possible right? He tries to search for his name in distant lands?

Oh my god, delta! Izzy(or Iz)=Islanzadi, Solly=Solembum, Saph=Saphira, Kat=Katrina, etc. Those are my nicknames for the characters.

I'll be sure to remember those abbreviations, Aravelle. Has any one ever noticed that I say peoples usernames FULLY instead of silly little nick names like, ummm...Delta! Well, I guess I'm just polite and nice like that. Out of curiosity, is the quote that you have in your signature said by Eragon from his poem at the Agaeti Blodhren ceremony? I had to look up how to spell that from the book. You know, I could have just looked up whether it is from his poem or not...Ah, well, I guess I'm just to lazy.

Interesting tangent...but back to the original conversation . I don't agree with the parent's naming their children, I think that it something that people are born. I think that people's true names are the one word that defines who they are and what they will do with the skills and talents they are given.

I agree with Tempest, and I'll make sure to call you your full name, DeltaFlip. And for the record, I don't care if people call me Ara, Velle, Elle, Arby, or my real name, Sam. I respond to them all!

Also DeltaFlip, my quote is from somewhere in Eragon, not Eldest, and 2 other nicknames you should know are Galbatorix=Galby, and murtagh=Murty

Agreed. I just sort of thought of that, but it really doesn't make much sense, when you think about it.
